Conner....My Little Athlete!

This kid never stops moving. Seriously, he never stops. He is always using what ever is in his hands as some kind of ball, throwing it up in the air, throwing it at the wall in hopes that it will bounce back to him. He frequently uses his blood tester as a ball and I've had to get after him because he's come home with a broken vile of insulin a couple of times and other times without any insulin at all because it flew out of his pack while taking flight. The other day I called the office to see what his blood sugar level was and the secretary said, "He hasn't come in yet....oh wait here he comes, throwing his blood tester pack in the air." I just had to laugh because that is so him. In his own little super star world.
He started basketball the end of Sept. and is really liking it. His team is pretty good but they're still learning how to pass the ball to any player even if you don't know him very well. Saturday Colby and I and Noelle went to watch his game. The other team had some really tall players that just towered over Conner, and a coach that kept looking at her play sheet to see which play they should run next. Mind you, they are only in 2nd grade. So you can imagine how ecstatic she was when the ref kept calling fouls on Conner's team which meant that the other team got to take the ball out. Conner never seemed to be too bothered by it but kept playing his heart out. Colby on the other hand was getting heated and kept cursing the ref and the other coach the entire game. I kept reminding him that they were only 2nd graders and not the Jazz. Any way, it's still fun to watch him play anything because he gets so into it and he is so coordinated.

Here's a pic of im playing baseball which his most favorite sport. He would ask me before each game, "Mom which batting stance do you like better, the one where I swing the bat three times and then point to where I want it to go, or the one where I point the bat where I want to hit the ball and then pull up on my sleeve." Too funny! I haven't written very much about him and I needed to write a few things down before I forgot them.

One last thing, the other day when I picked him up from school the first thing he said to me when he got into the car was, "Hey mom, did you know that I'm the only 2nd grader that can tackle Chaz." Chaz is his best buddy that lives next door. He is twice his weight and head and shoulders taller than him. The funny thing is, is that chaz is only 5 months older than him. They remind me of Rob and Big on MTV

Amy, Conner is such a stud. I love that he says hi to us when I'm picking up carpool, he really is a sweet kid. Ok is it embarrassing that one of Jake's favorite shows is Rob and Big, and I can totally see what you mean, hilarious!
